The North Coast Ski season is not too far off into the distance now and for those that make the trip to Terrace and the slopes of Shames Mountain the first opportunity for discounts for the 2016-17 season is fast approaching.
The Early Bird Discount of 20 percent will come to an end on Saturday, with eight different options available for local ski enthusiasts.
Those that let the Saturday deadline pass them by will have one final opportunity until November 4 to get at least a ten percent discount on the upcoming ski season.
After November 5 the Regular Full Rate Fee Schedule will be in effect for the remainder of the season.
The breakdown of fees can be found below (click to enlarge):
As the season ramps up the organization will hold their Annual General Meeting for My Mountain Coop-Shames Mountain. The important first official function of the year will take place on Tuesday, September 27th from 6 to 8:30 PM, that takes place at the Waap Galt'ap Community Longhouse on the campus of Northwest Community College in Terrace.
Shames also has a Job Fair planned for Wednesday, October 12th for residents of the Northwest to check out the employment opportunities on the mountain. It will take place from 10 AM to 2 PM at Northwest Training Ltd. a t201-4622 Greig Avenue in Terrace.
More information on what Shames Mountain has in store for the year ahead can be found on their website.
There is also a Facebook page for those taking to the slopes to keep up with the latest events on the mountain.
Once the ski season is underway we'll feature updates on events and competitions through our Northwest Ski Archive page, which tracks developments at both Terrace's Shames Mountain and at Ski Smithers in the Bulkley Valley.
The archive is permanently placed in our Right Hand Column of Archives under the North Coast Review Sports Section.
