Lester Centre is Turning Thirty and tuning up with an entertaining season ahead

They're making plans at the Lester Centre of the Arts to kick off the 30th Birthday celebrations of the civic facility, the source of much pride for many city residents who like to show off their home for the arts whenever an opportunity presents itself.

This year in addition to the parade of Christmas season pageants and the highly popular Charles Hays Theatre program presentation of December, there is an intriguing list of upcoming shows that should have North Coast residents grabbing their tickets or picking up a season pass for the year ahead.

Included in the Year of shows are some familiar names and some intriguing presentations for supporters of the Arts on the North Coast to take in:

October 9 -- Jim Byrnes 7 PM
October 26 -- Quartom Vocal Quartet 7:30 PM
January 15 -- Joelle Rabu and Nico Rhodes 7 PM
February 25 -- Danny Nielson in Love.Be.Best.Free
April 15 -- Phantom of the Opera

February 4th is the night for the 30 Year Celebration of the Lester Centre with some local flair, as the Gala evening and signature event for the 30th Birthday will feature local dancers, actors and musicians.

June 10th will also be a night to circle on the calendar or put into your Personal Device, as Prince Rupert's local artists present their Janis Joplin Tribute during Seafest Weekend.

More information on upcoming shows and Season passes can be found from the Lester Centre website.

You can review the highlights of the year ahead from the recent 30th Birthday pamphlet delivered to homes around the region.
