Heavy equipment will be moving into the Crestview Drive region of the city today, as the City of Prince Rupert begins its capital repair project for the sewer main in the east side neighbourhood.

With the road and sewer work will come the need for traffic restrictions in the area, with single lane traffic to be implemented on Crestview during the construction period, with any full road closure requirements to be intermittent and only on an as-needed basis.

Access for emergency service vehicles and the Crestview bus route will not be impacted by the work.

It's anticipated that the project will take between three to four weeks to reach completion.

Residents were notified of the upcoming work through information notices delivered to the ir homes prior to today's launch of the project.

You can review the full details related to the traffic provisions here.
