Minor Basketball is back for another season at the Russell Gamble Gym at the Civic Centre |
One of Prince Rupert's most popular fall sports is heading towards the start of the season with the Prince Rupert Minor Basketball Association ready for next weeks launch for 2017-18.
Divisions include Grades 3/4, Grades 5/6, Grades 7/8 Boys, Grades 7/8 Girls and Grades 9-12
However while registration numbers were strong for the majority of those divisions, 7/8 Girls division may be subject to cancellation as there was less interest expressed in that division as Registration came to an end on September 8th.
Other divisions however filled up quickly, with wait lists now available for those who may not have had opportunity to register.
Practices get underway next week at the Russell Gamble Gymnasium at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre, with season play soon to follow.
Game Day play for most divisions takes place on Saturdays, with Grades 3/4 on the court from 12:30 to 2 PM and Grades 5/6 from 2 to 3:30
League officials have yet to finalize when the Grade 7/8 divisions will play, that decision dependant on the final registration count.
Towards those discussions, a PRMBA Executives/Coaches meeting is set for Thursday at 6:30 PM at the Crest, where officials will review the registration numbers and take care of the last minute details before the season launch.
