City seeks to fill staff opening in IT department

The Help Wanted sign is up again at City Hall, with the City of Prince Rupert currently looking to fill a position in their Information Technology department.

A job posting on the city's employment listings posted today highlights the range of duties that come as part of the System Analyst position,  included on the tasks list is the ability to plan, develop and manage various IT systems.

The position also includes the provision of client support for City Staff and the local RCMP detachment, as well as to provide support for City Council's media and broadcast system.

The position comes with some weekend and evening work and include overseeing the broadcast of the city's bi-weekly Council sessions.

it appears to be the same position that the city had advertised for back in August.

In their Annual Report for 2016, the City identified a number of objectives for the department for this year, offering up a glimpse as to some of the projects that the department takes on.
