The weather woes for the North Coast continue to build with Drive BC issuing an alert advising that Highway 16 between Terrace and Prince Rupert has been closed due to flooding.

A notice from the Ministry of Transportation Skeena District notes that crews are on site and looking to redirect the water.

The most optimistic update was for  a potential opening between 8 and 10 tonight, with more news to come at 7 PM.

Further east, a Travel Advisory is in effect in the Moricetown area, where snow accumulations have resulted in a Winter Driving Advisory to be posted for the region.
