Prince Rupert's moment to hold the newsflow for TV7

Some apparent short staffing at the region's Television station has put the work of Prince Rupert reporter Corey Callaghan to the forefront of the nightly TV 7 newscast over the last few weeks, with the North Coast providing the bulk of the video contributions of late.

TV7 appears to have found itself short one reporter with the departure of reporter Jaylene Matthews, who last provided a story for the 6 PM news cast back in mid September, with this item seemingly her farewell story.

Since that point, the shift in focus for the Terrace based Television station has seen a number of Prince Rupert topics getting perhaps a little wider exposure than they might have one month ago, when Mr. Callaghan had to share the time allotments for story ideas.

Northwest television News viewers will be seeing much more of Prince Rupert
based reporter Corey Callaghan over the next little while, as CFTK finds itseld
down one reporter at its Terrace location

And judging by the Bell Media careers page, unless they have a candidate already on the way, the Prince Rupert focus may remain strong for the immediate future. At the moment, the national communications operator has no help wanted listings posted to their careers page, seeking news personnel for the Northwest broadcast outlet.

TV 7 currently has four staff members listed as part of the Northwest news team for Bell Media.
