Moderate earthquake rattles area west of Tofino overnight
An area located between two fault lines off the west coast of Vancouver Island rattled overnight with a 4.5 magnitude earthquake recorded shortly before 2:30 AM
The quake was located 170 kilometres SW of Tofino and had a depth of ten kilometres.
No damage, or injuries were reported as a result of the early morning temblor and no Tsunami warning was generated by the overnight events.
The area has seen frequent similar sized quakes in recent months, though had been less active over the summer months for the most part.
