Hallowe'en Fest preparations taking shape as the night of haunting nears

Tuesday night will make for a casting call of ghosts and goblins, Hulks and super heroes and an assortment of the newest of popular characters and cultural icons, all of it on view at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre as part of Hallowe'en Fest.

Tuesday night's gathering takes place from 6 to 8 PM and offers the youth of Prince Rupert a safe environment to share in the excitement of the night. Organizers have a range of games ready for the costumed and no costumed alike, though showcasing your Halloween finery will be the featured event, with a Costume parade set for 6:15.

Candy and Prizes will also be part of the 30th annual community event.

The night comes to an end with a band and explosion of light as the Halloween Fireworks display is launched into the air with Mount Hays providing the backdrop for the night's pyrotechnics which start at 8:15, the show can be viewed from the Civic Centre parking lot area.

The Earl Mah Aquatic Centre is also gearing up for the Halloween events with a number of Pool Party events planned over this weekend and again on October 31st.

The community celebration is sponsored by a large group of local businesses and larger organizations, included among those groups are:

Save On Foods, VIA Rail, Canada Safeway, Northern Savings Credit Union, City of Prince Rupert, Prince Rupert Port Authority, the Prince Rupert RCMP and Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue Department.

As the event gets closer so too doest the need for volunteers to lend a hand to make the night extra special for the youngsters, if you can offer up some of your time for Tuesday's event you are asked to contact organizers at 250-62GHOST ( 250-624-4678)
