It was an early departure for the Northern Adventure today as

The approaching change of weather for Haida Gwaii and the North Coast has sent BC Ferries to try and get ahead of the oncoming weather system this morning.

To address the prospect of adverse weather in the region, the Northern Adventure made for an early departure out of Skidegate, having left the Haida Gwaii Terminal at 8 this morning, two hours earlier than it's scheduled departure.

That will make for a 2 PM arrival in Prince Rupert.

The advisory was issued earlier today through the BC Ferries information options

As we outlined on the blog earlier today, a strong pacific system is heading the way of Haida Gwaii and the North Coast, with winds of up to 90 km/h  expected and marine weather warnings issued.

You can keep up to date on any schedule changes to come over the next day through the BC Ferries Service Notice feature
