Home Renovation Expo part of Northern Savings plans for May AGM

The North Coast Convention Centre will be the venue for Northern Savings
Home Renovation Expo and AGM on May 9th

Northern Savings Credit Union is bringing back a  shorter version of the once popular annual home show for the North Coast, with the Prince Rupert based financial service set to host a Home Renovation Expo as part of their Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, May 9th.

The Home Renovation event takes place at the North Coast Convention Centre starting at 5 PM and will offer a one hour opportunity for local residents to connect with local businesses in the area which specialize in home renovation projects, giving those looking to upgrade their homes this year some local contacts to get the projects rolling.

Northern Savings Annual General Meeting will follow the Home Renovation Expo at 6 PM, Credit Union officials will review the events of the past year and offer a look at what's ahead for 2018.

Among some of those notes will be to continue on with the focus for Northern Savings towards their recent strategic planning initiatives.

As well a significant investment  in technology is on the way to make their processes more member friendly, along with a major renovation planned for the Masset branch.

Northern Savings will also install the latest members of their Board of Directors.

There were four positions to be filled for this year, three of which were taken care of by way of acclimation.

Joining the Board for a three year term will be:

Kim Mushynhsky - Director Haida Gwaii
Erin Newton - Director at Large
James Mathius - Director at Large

One final appointment for a one year term will announced at the AGM.

Credit Union members recently received an update by mail providing the background to the AGM and the financial notes that will be reviewed as part of the May meeting.

Northern Savings will use the same format from Prince Rupert for its three other AGM's planned for may for Haida Gwaii and Terrace.
