Wind Warning Issued for North Coast -- Coastal region

A fast moving weather system approaching Northern Vancouver Island is charting a course towards Haida Gwaii and the North Coast and with it will come some strong winds for the region.

The Strong southerly winds of near 90 km/h will arrive on the exposed areas of the North Coast in the mid day period and are not expected to ease off until later in the day.

With that track in mind, Environment Canada issued a Wind Warning earlier this morning for both regions

For the most part the arriving system will be a wind event, with showers the only precipitation in the forecast through until Thursday night, when heavier rain will arrive in the region.

You can find updates on the path of the system through the Environment Canada Alert page.

Marine Weather warnings have also been issued as the system approaches.
