The Hearing which will take place prior to the regular City Council session of December 10th, will allow members of the public to provide their final thoughts on how the city has rolled out their cannabis plans, as well as to speak to the recent revision to the proposed zones for commercial development.
At their November 26th Council session, the city expanded the area where they are considering allowing retail operations, tacking on a section near Five Corners and along Park Avenue to the larger area which consists of the majority of the downtown and Cow Bay areas of the city.
Last week, we outlined some of the background to those changes and the review by Council of the community engagement sessions of mid November.
The city's roll out of its cannabis planning has taken place through much of the fall, next Monday's Council session could provide for the final approval of the retail plan, allowing for would be entrepreneurs to begin to seek out their business licences and operate their shops in 2019.
