We ring in the New Year of our Blog Watching feature by once again finding one of the top stories for the community the ongoing issues for the city's water supply.
And as what was first suggested as a one week inconvenience morphs into almost four weeks of daily boiling duty, the temperature was also rising on some of the regions social media forums.
Some of the other themes of this first week of 2019 that captured the attention of our readers was the annual baby watch across the Northwest, with Smithers staking the claim to the first New Years Baby for the year, with Prince Rupert joining the parade one day later.
This week also saw the BC Assessment results released and our notes of review on the annual valuation of our homes attracted a strong audience.
The holiday break came to an end a bit early for members of the Charles Hays Rainmakers, as the Senior boys found success in a two game series with the Kitsilano Blue Demons.
And the week came to an end with a casting call for this years community theatre presentation, with Monday the night for auditions to start the three month rehearsal period for the play Rumours.
However the top story of the week once again put the focus on the city's ongoing woes with its supply of drinking water.
Lack of information puts social media to boil on Prince Rupert water issues -- Heading towards a fourth week of boiling water, the city's water supply concerns continue to dominate much of the discussion around the city.
