The newest vessel to join the Northern fleet of BC Ferries is making its introductory tour this week with stops along the Central Coast and Port Hardy.
The Northern Sea Wolf, the much delayed (it was supposed to be in service last summer) addition to the Central Coast route service has been making port calls over the last week.
The vessel began its tour of region on Sunday pulling in at Bella Coola and Ocean Falls, with Monday dedicated to a stop at Shearwater.
Today it's Bella Bella's turn to welcome the new vessel and take a tour, the short introductory sailings wrap up in Port Hardy on Thursday.
Formal ceremonies to welcome the Northern Sea Wolf the BC Ferries fleet are planned for the first week of June, with a June 2nd event scheduled for Bella Coola followed by a Port Hardy celebration on June 3rd.
Those two events will formally introduce the vessel to the new direct service between the two communities.
The Northern Sea Wolf will commence service to the Central Coast in the first week of July linking Port Hardy to a number of communities south of Prince Rupert |
