Prince Rupert Library hails 2019 Poetry winners

This years Poetry contest winners at the Prince Rupert Library

The 2019 Prince Rupert Library Poetry Contest winners were announced yesterday with Chief Librarian Joe Zelwietro presenting prizes to the three top poets from the competition.

As we outlined in early April, this years theme was What home means to me and there were three categories for submissions.

Receiving the accolades from the Library for their contributions to the contest were Madison McKay, Lucas Martin and Willow Rudiger.

Samples of their work can be viewed below, courtesy of the Prince Rupert Library Facebook page.

The full display of work is now up in the main hallway of the Sixth Avenue West library for the public to enjoy.

The poetry contest which took place in April was part of a larger focus on Poetry, which included readings and workshops at the Prince Rupert Library.
