Museum of Northern British Columbia hosts Haida Gwaii expressions until late July

A chance to explore the work of renowned Haida Gwaii artist Maryanne Wettlaufer is currently the feature exhibit at the Museum of Northern British Columbia, with the Ruth Harvey Gallery the host for a collection of her works of art.

The showcase of her work began in mid June and offers a glimpse of Haida Gwaii for those who have yet to experience the Islands for themselves.

Her attachment to Haida Gwaii is depicted both through her art and through a short synopsis of he artist's vision statement from her website, which showcase how the images that the various way points on the Islands have helped shape and improve on her work through the years.

Originally from Ontario, she moved to the West coast in 1996, more recently setting her base on Haida Gwaii where she continues to explore all that the islands have to offer.

Her impressions of how nature defines landscape through her works of art  will be on display at the museum until July 28th.
