Prince Rupert Salvation Army sets Registration dates for annual Christmas Hamper program

With the holiday season looming large on our calendars, the work for those at the Prince Rupert's Salvation Army will quickly ramp up, that as the need in the community continues to grow during some troubled times for the region.

The annual Hamper program provides some household goods and other assistance for those in the most need in the Prince Rupert area.

This year, the program which is operated by the Salvation Army will be taking registrations by phone over the course of a two week period in early November.

The dates for phone calls to the Salvation Army run as follows:

November 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 and again on November 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13

The number to call is 250-624-6180.

If you leave a message, make sure to provide for your phone number for a call back from Salvation Army staff.

As part of the Registration process, those looking to apply are asked to have all Identification for household members available at the time of the call as well as information related to household income and expenses.

As well, hamper organizers note that if you have a wish list items for children to share that as well, something that those putting together the hampers will do their best to provide for within reason.

Details on when the Hampers will be available for pick up will be shared at the time of registration.

Last month, Prince Rupert's Harley Riders took to the streets of the city, part of their annual fundraising efforts for the Hamper Program, the day long ride around the area which provides for some significant cash and goods for the annual campaign.
