Spirit of Lax Kw'alaams ready for return to service at end of month

This ain't no trick, and for travellers perhaps a treat, with the Spirit of Lax Kw'alaams to return to service just before Halloween, the first sailing of the MV Nicola set for 8 AM Friday, October 30th.

The key transportation link between Lax Kw'alaams and Prince Rupert and points beyond has been in a refit since late summer, with the Band Council providing for a barge and launch service through the summer and into the fall for community residents.

Lax Kw'alaams relayed their information yesterday through a variety of message making options.

The vessel has been a long serving mainstay for North Coast waters and has seen a number of similar refits in her storied history.

A replacement for the Spirit of Lax Kw'alaams has been in the discussion stage for a number of years, as of yet however, not announcements have been made as to when a new more modern vessel will soon take to the water.
