BC Liberal's Roy Jones Junior set for virtual Open House this weekend

The 2020 BC election campaign is making for a changing landscape for how candidates communicate with voters, with COVID related measures requiring a new method in getting out policy plans, or fielding questions from constituents.

This weekend BC Liberal candidate Roy Jones Junior will be hosting a Virtual Open House, with two sessions planned for Sunday, with Mr. Jones noting of the unusual times we are in and how he is looking forward to still being able to hear the concerns from north Coast voters.

"The restrictions of COVID-19 have made it impossible to do in-person visits to all the communities that make up the North Coast riding. As someone who has worked and lived in this area my entire life, I cherish my connections with its cities, districts and villages and want to have a meaningful conversation with their residents. Through the Internet, I will be getting face-to-face, safely, with as many as possible so we can talk about what’s most important to each one of us."

The virtual Open House will be hosted through the candidates Facebook stream, with Mr. Jones exploring the issues online with rural residents of Haida Gwaii, Bella Bella, Bella Coola, Hartley Bay, Oona River and others at 1 PM.

His second session at 3:00 p.m. will offer an opportunity for those from Prince Rupert and Port Edward to participate and ask quesitons or raise issues of concern to the urban area of the riding.

Some further background to his campaign can be reviewed through the BC Liberal website.
