Prince Rupert Fire Rescue members close in on end of Probationary period

The three newest members of the Prince Rupert
Fire/Rescue Department are almost through their probationary period

Three members of the Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue Department are in the final weeks of their probationary period, with the PRFD celebrating the success of firefighters Johnson, Green and Fodor through their Social Media stream this past week.

The Prince Rupert department also has outlined some of the training that they have taken on in recent weeks, with a photo essay of the work of firefighters taking part in some Self Rescue and Rapid intervention refresher training.

Some of the training of late September was provided by Dynamic Rescue Systems, which has been travelling around the Northwest this month providing its training program for Northwest Fire Departments.

Next week, Firefighters in Prince Rupert, Port Edward and other Northwest communities will observe Fire Prevention Week, which takes place from October 3 to 9

We'll have more on those events as the week gets underway.

For more notes on the recent training sessions and other items of note from the Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue Department follow their Facebook page.
