Change Makers Society celebrates International Literacy Day today at the Ocean Centre

for International Literacy Day

The K'oomtyk Youth Centre in the Ocean Centre Mall is the after school spot for today, as the Change Makers' Education Society hosts an Open House in celebration of International Literacy Day!

The event takes place starting at 3PM  with Centre open until 10 PM this evening.

As part of today's event, they have created a light snacks menu for those who drop by which includes: we will have a light snacks provided. There will be Lentil Shepard's Pie, Zucchini pecan muffins, along with a Carmel Bread Pudding.

Today's activities make for just one of a busy September schedule, with the Centre located in Suite 151 of the Ocean Centre downtown set to join the Friendship House later this month in honour and memory of Indian Residential School Survivors and those who never made it home.

They and the Friendship house will be hosting a week of events from September 26-30 in the lead up to the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
