Last week, the Cowichan Valley Regional District announced and welcomed Danielle Myles-Wilson to their team, noting of her extensive work on the North Coast as part of the update for the community.
Ms. Myles Wilson joined the District of Port Edward in July of 2019, the District bringing her to the North Coast from the City of Terrace where she had been serving as the Manger of Economic Development.
Her arrival with the District provided for three years of strong administration forPort Edward as they took on a number of challenges and began to realize some increased development for the community.
She may find that the media spotlight is a little brighter on Vancouver Island with her hiring already making news for the Island's Television station
The position is based in the Duncan office of the Regional District.
As she arrives she may find a few familiar faces from the North Coast in the area, one as close as the Regional District Office, where Kris Schumacher, the former Daily News reporter and Prince Rupert Port Authority Communications coordinator is now employed as Manager of Communications and Engagement.
Former City of Prince Rupert planner Tom Ireland also has put down some roots in the Cowichan Valley area.
So far the District of Port Edward has not placed the Help Wanted ad to the municipal jobs board from CivicInfo BC.
