Prince Rupert Youth Soccer names first recipient of new CHSS Bursary program

Soccer players on the Charles Hays Secondary School team now have a role model to follow for future seasons.

That as the Prince Rupert Youth Soccer Association introduces a new Bursary for the city's Secondary School.

This week, the PRYSA introduced the Dempsey Tsakonas Memorial Bursary, to be awarded annually to a graduating student who is a member of the CHSS Rainmakers Soccer team.

Mr. Tsakonas was a long time participant of the Prince Rupert Soccer scene, he passed away earlier this year at the age of 44.

His online obituary charting a life full of community involvement and asking that in lieu of flowers at the time, that a donation for Prince Rupert Youth Soccer be considered.
