Municipal politics and relations with the Provincial government made for a good portion of the the week's news flow, with municipal leaders from across British Columbia gathering in Vancouver for the annual UBCM convention.
Northwest politicians headed south with hopes of making some progress on their initiative to gain more financial revenues from the resources that are taken from the region, with the Northwest Resource Benefits Alliance seeking out a number of ministers and the Premier to explore their themes of concern.
Mayor Lee Brain's work on climate topics also generated some interest this week, as the Mayor took part in the Climate Leadership sessions at UBCM. The Climate forums made for just one of a number of topics that made for discussion points on the week.
Back home, there was significant interest in what the City of Prince Rupert had to offer from this years Tax Sale list, with but a few properties still remaining on the active file by the time the Monday morning auction came up.
And the launch of the BC Liberal leadership campaign found some of the candidates for Christy Clark's old job making the trip into the Northwest, with Mike Lee, Lucy Sager and Mike de Jong all meeting with residents through the week.
The top story of the last seven days however puts the focus on the hopes for a better share of resource revenue in the Northwest and the work of the Resource Benefits Alliance.
