Coastal Training Centre seeks work placement sponsors

The Coastal Training Centre is currently looking for
work placement spots for students of its Office Administration program

The Coastal Training Centre continues its work in providing for career training on the North Coast, having partnered with the Nicola Valley Institute of Technology to deliver an Office Administration Certificate program.

As part of their curriculum, the Centre is now looking for Work Placement Sponsors who will accept work experience students from the program, with a practicum session set for a two week period from April 24 to May 4th.

If you have an interest in providing a space for a student to work on their career ambitions, you can contact the Coastal Training Centre at 250-627-8822.

The Coastal Training Centre is an initiative launched by the Metlakatla Development Corporation, and features offices and classroom space in the old PPWC hall at Sixth West and Dunsmuir.

Both the Training Centre and NVIT have joined forces before to offer a range of training programs for residents of the North Coast.

You can find out more of what they have to offer from their website here.

The Office Administration Program is a sample of some of the programs that NVIT is beginning to bring into the Northwest, having reached other partnership agreements with other communities across the region in recent months.

The short programs and specialized courses may be just the start for NVIT to expand its footprint in the Northwest, last year we noted that the Merritt based campus is looking at creating a larger presence in the region and has been particularly engaged in offering courses in Burns Lake.

Some of those notes can be reviewed below:

September 2017 -- NVIT keeps eyes on North for next campus location
March 2017 -- Nicola Valley Institute considers Northern expansion
