Wind Warning Issued for North Coast Coastal Sections

There's about to be a change in the North Coast weather patterns for the next few days and to herald the arrival of a Pacific system later in the weekend, the North Coast has been put under a Wind Warning for today, with the warning issued by Environment Canada earlier this morning.

The winds anticipated to be between 80 to 100 km/h will come courtesy of a deep low pressure system in the Gulf of Alaska mixing with a high pressure ridge in Northeastern BC.

A weather advisory has also been issued for areas inland of the North Coast as the system prepares to pass through the region.

The forecast for the rest of the week and into the weekend offers a mixture or Rain for Friday, a break on Saturday an periods of rain for Sunday and Monday.

Marine forecasts have also been upgraded to reflect the changing weather, with  Gale and Storm Warnings Forecast in place for much of he North Coast and Haida Gwaii areas.

You can keep up to date on the status of the wind warning and approaching weather system from the Environment Canada website.
