The Ice Demons put a bit of s scare into the hometown fans early on, scoring within the first thirty seconds from puck drop, but the Rampage regained their balance by mid first period with two goals to regain the lead from the visitors.
Jordan Weir gained the first marker after the month long hiatus, with Graeme Lodge assisting on the Rampage goal at 7:29, followed a few minutes later by a short handed, unassisted goal from Jared Meers at 11:48.
The one goal lead would carry through until the early stages of period two when it was answered by the Ice Demons, but again, the Rampage readjusted and score two more in the middle frame.
Logan Morris put the Rampage back in the lead at 8:35 with assists going to Judd Repole and Jacob Santurbano, nine minutes later Kolton Chasse converted a Jacob Santurbano assist to add to the lead at 19:20.
The Third saw the Rampage put away any thoughts of a come back by the Kitimat squad, with Jean Luc Rendell-Fournier scoring an unassisted empty netter in the first minute of play, followed by Jordan Weir's power play marker at 7:20 with assists going to Tylor Ostrom and Kolton Chasse.
The Ice Demons would get one more mark on the goal sheet before the Rampage shut the door for the 6-3 final.
Kieran Sharpe had a strong night in the Rampage net, turning aside 20 of 23 shots while Ron Rich was tagged with the loss for the Ice Demons facing 21 shots on the night.
The penalty count was kept low with thirty minutes in total served, 20 for the Ice Demons, 10 for the Rampage, though there was one serious incident midway through period two, when the Ice Demons Zachary Carrita was asses a number of penalties including a Misconduct for a head contact penalty.

The Saturday night match up served as a good way for the Rampage to ease into what will now be a hectic run through the remainder of the season, with two games set for the team this weekend.
The first a road trip and rematch with the Ice Demons at Tamitik on Friday night followed by what should be a showtime event and key showdown for the team on Saturday, when the first place Terrace River Kings come to town.
Four points separate the Rampage from the River Kings with the Terrace team one with a powerful offensive unit, featuring 64 goals on the season just eight games into the 2019-20 season.

In addition for a chance to gain some ground on the CIHL leaders, the game falls on Rogers Hometown Hockey weekend in Prince Rupert, an event which could make Saturday night's game one of the talking points for the nationwide Sunday broadcast from the Civic Centre and offer some great exposure for the Senior Men's game across Northern BC.
