As Adverse weather approaches, another Ferry sailing cancellation announced by BC Ferries

With some anticipated adverse weather set to arrive on the North Coast and Haida Gwaii over the next 48 hours, the BC Ferries vessel Northern Expedition will remain in port on Thanksgiving Day Monday, with the scheduled departure of 10 PM for Haida Gwaii now cancelled.

That means the Tuesday return to Prince Rupert is now off the list of sailings as well.

BC Ferries made the decision official early Sunday evening, with a Service Notice posted to their website.

Updates on the next sailing for BC ferries can be found from the Service Notices page.

The cancellation comes with a GALE WARNING in effect for Hecate Strait, with winds increasing to 40 knots by Monday afternoon building to 50 into Tuesday.
