Update and Correction: Well one has to read the fine print now doesn't one, the windfall in Prince Rupert is much larger than we had understood.
A bit of additional investigation through the BC Lottery Corporation indicates that the lucky Prince Rupert resident is sharing in the larger overall jackpot of 11 million on the night, making for a near 5.8 million split ... and we're still here, so it clearly wasn't us.
**** Original story with correction to amount *********
Somewhere amongst us today walks a soon to be minted, multi millionaire in Prince Rupert perhaps, a ticket purchased in the community now a winner of a 5 million dollar plus jackpot, with someone in Ontario holding another five million dollar ticket.
Six out of Six numbers in the Wednesday night Lotto 649 Draw earned the Rupert bought ticket the 5.8 million share of the jackpot.
We're still posting items to the North Coast Review, so it wasn't us.
Depending on their poker face, someone may or may not be into work today we imagine.
Once we can put a name to the windfall we'll share the details further.
