Another Pacific weather system is arriving later today, set to bring mostly rainy, windy weather through the Thanksgiving Day weekend ahead.

While not quite as extreme as some of our recent weather arrivals, the oncoming weather will make for a wet weekend, with up to 17mm of rain a possibility that is anticipated for today. Winds of up to 90 kilometres per hour bring the weather system ashore today and into tonight as well.

That will followed by the following levels of precipitation described as Rain, Periods of Rain and Showers through to Tuesday, all of which has the potential to bring an additional eighty mm of rain before the last Turkey sandwich is consumed by the start of next week.

As we noted yesterday, the approaching weather has already resulted in change for the BC Ferries Schedule, that owing to active weather ahead for the Hecate Strait crossing between Prince Rupert and Skidegate.

You can access the latest advisory on ferry transportation from the BC Ferries Service Notice page.

A look back at some of the past weather arrivals can be explored from our archive page.
