Two day delay for Prince Rupert to Skidegate transit as BC Ferries awaits next weather system

It will be quiet around the BC Ferries Terminal in Prince Rupert
over next few days as a sailing delay keeps the Northern Expedition
in port and the sailing schedule to be revised

The fall season of schedule changes goes forward for BC Ferries, with the Prince Rupert departure for Skidegate for today now delayed until Wednesday, with adverse weather on the way the cause of the latest suspension of service.

The new departure date from Prince Rupert is now set at 2PM On Wednesday, with the return from Skidegate to Prince Rupert scheduled for the early hours of Thursday morning.

BC Ferries outlined the new scheduling for the Northern Expedition as part of a Service Notice for today, which was updated over the noon hour.

The change comes as the Hecate Strait faces its latest STORM WARNING, with winds of up to 50 knots by Tuesday afternoon and seas building to 6 metres by Tuesday as well.

Keep up to date on the latest notes from BC Ferries from their Service notices page
