Council to receive recommendation from Operations towards Master Service Agreement

With the prospect of increased development  and infrastructure work on the horizon by the City, council tonight will be asked to approve a recommendation from Operations Director Richard Pucci to approve a contract award to the CT Contractors Alliance, providing that organization with a Master Service Agreement.

The Coast Tsimshian Northern Contractors Alliance is a partnership of the Lax Kw'alaams Band, Metlakatla First Nation and four northern British Columbia contractors, they have taken on a number of local projects, many related to Port development and associated projects.

The alliance also worked on the city's recent Landfill expansion project in 2020.

The scope of the request is one that highlights how the Agreement would provide certainty to access contractors at competitive rates.

The documentation towards the agreement is outlined as part of the Agenda for this evenings council session, though it's somewhat light on specifics as to what form of projects that this agreement would be directed towards.

Following Mr. Pucci's presentation on the contract award, Council members will have opportunity to ask questions or seek out further details related to the Master Contract proposal.

Among those questions perhaps, how this agreement differs to, or perhaps supersedes, a similar request approved on February 28th, when Mr. Pucci provided much the same background related to a similar reward request for Colliers Project Leaders.

The City also has a call for General Construction and Construction Master Services Agreement currently listed with BC Bid, that RFP comes to a close on March 21st.

More notes on this evenings council session can be reviewed from our Council preview.

A look at past RFP's and Bids along with  contract awards can be explored here.
