Masking orders dropping across the Northwest, with some important exceptions

Yesterday's announcement from Doctor Bonnie Henry that the provincial mask wearing requirement would come to and at 1 minute after midnight has been quickly noted by a number of Northwest municipalities.

The District of Kitimat was the one of the first out of the gate to advise residents of how it was approaching the latest news from Victoria, removing its mask mandate as per the new Public health Order.

Smithers officials as well were quick to Social Media to announce the lifting of the mask requirement for the Bulkley Valley community.

The City of Terrace today shared its announcement as well, lifting the requirement for masks but reminding its residents that the vaccine passport is still required until April 8th.

So far missing from the roll out of the change in Provincial Health Orders, are both the City of Prince Rupert and District of Port Edward, both communities to this point have not shared the news through their Social Media options.

At the Prince Rupert School District, the mask wearing will be required until March 18th, with SD52 outlining that they will be reviewing their position on masks over Spring Break.

Coast Mountain College campuses, including the Fifth Street campus in Prince Rupert will also continue to have a mask mandate, in the case of Coast Mountain College, the requirement will be in place until late April.

As more organizations and institutions make announcements on the health orders we will add them to the list above.
