A Luxury transit along the North Coast

The luxury yacht LARS has been spending a few days in Prince Rupert
tied up at the Cow Bay Marina facility

The start of the marine travel season has brought a high profile visitor to the Cow Bay Marina this week, with a sleek looking luxury yacht, the LARS tied up to the marine facility on Tuesday.

The vessel taking an outer berth which offered those onboard a good view of the visiting Seabourn Odyssey on the day, as well as the busy Prince Rupert waterfront.

The vessel arrived from points south, listed as starting its journey 7 days ago from Ocean Falls.

It's relatively new to the world of luxury yachting, built in Italy in 2020 it measures 47 metres long with a width of 8 metres, it sails under the flag of Malta and was last listed as being owned by a European businessman.

2022 makes for a return for the City to be host of travellers aboard the luxury yacht club, the last two years saw Canadian waters closed to itinerant yacht traffic, something which was reflected in the past revenue and expenses listings for the Cow Bay facility.

During that period, the city had allowed fishing vessels to make use of the docks, though with the return of the yachts to Canadian waters, the focus for Cow Bay Marina will now return to its original purpose of offering a parking spot for the the yachts that transit through the region each summer.

The most recent update on the financials for the Cow Bay Marina were provided by the City's Chief Financial Officer in April, with CFO Corinne Bomben noting at that time that all indications for 2022 were that the Marina would be full subscribed for this summer.
