Prince Rupert's Price at the Pump spikes again, 2.19 a litre at most city locations

A trip back in the time machine, one year ago Prince Rupert
motorists were paying 1.55 a litre for gas ... today's price
point is just a little bit higher as we head towards summer

If you're pulling into a gas station this morning to fill up your vehicle, you'll be thinking back fondly to Monday and the by comparison affordable days of 2.04.9 a litre, with two of three Prince Rupert stations now featuring a price point of 2.19.9

A quick tour of the city this morning shows both Chevron downtown and the Industrial Park Petro Canada sitting at 2.19.9 per litre

The last of the in the city stations open at the moment, 7-11 Esso is featuring a price point of 2.09.9 ... with a surprisingly large number of vehicle free pumps available this morning, for now.

The fourth city gas station, Hays Cove Petro Can remains closed, the renovation of that facility going at a glacial pace, the station on the city's residential east side has been closed for months with no indication that a reopening is on the way anytime soon.

The Hays Cove Petro Can remains closed for ongoing renovatios
it's 1.99 per litre price sign a time capsule reminder
of the day's of gas below 2 dollars litre

We await the commuter reports from those out Port Edward way for the price point at the Port Ed General Store this morning.

More notes on the city's commercial sector can be reviewed here.

  1. Metro Vancouver is currently sitting at $231.9/L, and that includes the 18.5 cent regional translink tax.
So residents should be questioning the $219.9/L rate locally.

Residents should also question our MLA as to when they will see the gas relief cheque that was promised.
