Parking at Rushbrook or along George Hills Way? There's an app for that!

The City of Prince Rupert has introduced a new app based
program to help residents and visors access parking spots
at Rushbrook Floats and along George Hills Way

While the peak parking season is now behind us for 2022, the City of Prince Rupert is preparing for the fall and thinking ahead for 2023, introducing a new way to pay for your parking at the two most congested areas of the city that feature pay parking.

Last night, the City released the details towards the Passage Pass, a new app based program that allows you to pay for  Parkin or extend your time from your phone.

You can learn more about the program and download the app here.

The Rushbrook Floats parking lot was an area of some particular discussion this summer as visiting fishermen and local residents quickly filled up available spaces, creating some congested choke points for those transiting the area.

The situation even generated a reminder from the City in July towards the rules for parking.

At the time the situation created a fair bit of discussion on parking themes in the community, it will be worth watching the reaction to the roll out of the new app based option through the city's social media stream.
