The Store Closing signs are up at Prince Rupert's Sears location |
The Sears location currently at the city's Five Corners has been a long time fixture in the community, having been hosted at a number of locations over the years.
Over the weekend, Sears announced that it was planning to shutter 11 more of its large retail stores across Canada, with three major locations in British Columbia scheduled for closing.
With the closure of the retail stores, local storefront operations across Canada have also been feeling the decline of the Sears footprint and begun the process of closure.
A fixture at Five Corners for a number of years, the Prince Rupert Sears location will be closing later this month |
The Prince Rupert location currently is holding an inventory sale to try and move as much of their product out of the store before they close the doors to business at the local outlet for good.
