Spring Sports on the horizon for Charles Hays Secondary

The Spring Sports schedule is about to get underway at CHSS

With the last of the snow hopefully behind them, the Spring season of sports at Charles Hays Secondary is about to get underway, with Girls Soccer, along with Track and Field and Rugby all part of the mix for the final leg of the 2017-18 school year.

The Charles Hays Girls Rainmakers Soccer team will launch their season this weekend at the Prince Rupert campus,  with a spring of touring the Northwest ahead of them as they move further into competitive action, all of which will lead up to the Northwest Zone tournament at the Charles Hays field on May 12th.

The Girls squad will be looking to add their own Zones banner to the collection for the CHSS gym as well as make their own run towards the Provincial championship later this spring.

Track and Field will also put local athletes to the test this spring, with Charles Hays hoisting a track meet at two locations on the 28th of April, with the discuss and javelin events set for the PRMS field, while the remainder of the track events will take place at the Charles Hays field.

The Northwest zones competition is expected to take place in mid to late May.

The Prince Rupert Boulevard campus will also play host to the elementary Schools Track Meet set for Thursday morning on June 7th, with the back up date of June the 8th also on standby should poor weather be in the forecast.

The Charles Hays Rugby program is also expected to launch this spring, though there are no details on their plans available at the moment.

You can keep up to date with all of the events at Charles Hays, sports related and otherwise, through the CHSS twitter feed.
