As debate night for the Northwest arrives; NDP hold lead in Skeena-Bulkley Valley polling

Those looking to unseat incumbent Taylor Bachrach from his seat in the House of Commons will be working to overtake his lead from the most recent polling data; with 338 Canada indicating that at this point of the campaign, the current NDP MP is holding the lead in the election, that as the final two weeks of the campaign get underway. 

Though the margin of error in the +/- notations does offer some room to bring the results closer in two weeks time, for those looking to chase down the front runner.

As of the September 6th data release, the NDP appear to hold a strong lead over the Conservatives with 51 percent of the vote expected to go NDP Orange on September 20th, with 30% currently listed as Blue Conservative.

The next nearest vote count is that of the Liberal Party at just over 9.5%, the remaining parties include the Peoples Party of Canada with 4.6%, Green Party of Canada at 4% and Christian Heritage at 1%.

The candidates have their first opportunity to shift or hold that vote, depending on who your supporting, with tonights first and what may be only candidates debate.

As we noted last week the event is taking place at Terrace's REM Lee Theatre, hosted by a panel of local media. Owing to COVID there will be no audience in the theatre tonight, though you still have time to submit a question for consideration at the event by contact debate organizer Black Press in Terrace.

The debate will be live streamed tonight from 7-9 and can be viewed from the Terrace Standard Facebook page.

CityWest has also announced plans to rebroadcast the event later in the week.

So far, tonight's Terrace based event is the only session announced where all the candidates will face off one one one, or through a media panel.

While the Northwest race could still bring in some drama in time for September 20th, the race in Skeena-Bulkley Valley does not seem quite as intense as that taking place across Canada. 

With the National polling results from 338 Canada showing a lead for the Conservatives heading towards Election Day and a significant loss in seats for the governing Liberal party.
