Approaching Adverse Weather makes for schedule change for Northern Adventure, with Midnight departure to Prince Rupert announced

The Monday morning sailing to Prince Rupert
has been moved up to a Sunday Midnight departure from Skidegate.
That as BC Ferries looks to get ahead 
of some
adverse weather that is on the way


With a fast moving weather system about to arrive on the North Coast, BC Ferries is getting ahead of the weather announcing a schedule change for the Monday sailing between Skidegate and Prince Rupert.

In a Service Notice from Sunday afternoon, BC Ferries has moved up the 10AM Monday morning sailing time to Midnight tonight which will bring an arrival in Prince Rupert of 8AM

BC Ferries notes that Reserved customers will be contacted regarding their bookings and will be accommodated on the 12:00 am departure. We request customers to check in and be prepared for boarding at least 2 hours prior to the revised scheduled departure. 

The vessel is expected to be back on schedule with the 10:00 pm departure from Prince Rupert to Skidegate on Monday, September 20.

The Marine Forecast for Monday has a GALE WARNING in place, with winds to reach 45 knots from the Southeast at the peak of the system, with seas building to 5 metres by Monday morning.

Locally once the system makes landfall on the North Coast, the Prince Rupert area could see in excess of 100 mm of rain over the Monday to Tuesday period.
