Environment Canada issues Rainfall Warning for North Coast - Coastal Sections

 

Another Rain event is now tracking towards the North Coast
with a Thursday morning arrival anticipated for the
Prince Rupert area

Environment Canada has made it official, the North Coast is in store for another round of extensive rain, with a Rainfall Warning issued at just before 4PM today. With the National weather office calling for up to 120 mm of precipitation between Thursday morning and mid day Friday.

As it arrives we will see the winds increasing to 80 km/h by the morning, continuing through the day and beyond Midnight into Friday.

The forecast is calling for the Rain and wind to continue through the weekend and into next week

As we noted earlier today, this latest system comes on the heels of a Monday weather event that resulted in a range of issues for the City of Prince Rupert and local organizations.

In anticipation of more weather on the way, the City of Prince Rupert also issued its own notice today, reminding residents of their responsibilities when such weather arrives.

In addition to the forecast for land, the Marine Weather Forecast makes note of some ugly weather for mariners with a Storm Warning in effect calling for Winds of up to 50 knots from the Southeast anticipated through tonight and tomorrow with seas of up to 3 meters through Thursday afternoon.
