With summer vacations at an end, the 2021-22 School year is set for launch across the City and that means for motorists the need to be watchful while travelling through School Zones around the city.
Locations of School Zones across Prince Rupert and Port Edward |
Speed limits are reduced around all of the schools in Prince Rupert and Port Edward, (except for Pacific Coast School in the Ocean Centre) with the maximum set at 30 km per hour and you can most likely expect to see RCMP patrols from the Prince Rupert detachment over the start of the school year to help reinforce the rules of the road.
As well, keep in mind that School Buses will be travelling areas of the city and with that will be the need to be aware of the Do Not Pass Requirements for travel when the signal flashing lights are activated.
