The North Pacific Cannery Historical Society is looking to 2022 for renewed operations for the Port Edward Cannery Historical Site and their first task in welcoming guests next year is to hire on a General Manager.
The Job posting which has been listed through the District of Port Edward calls for applications for the successful candidate to hit the boardwalks running by January 3rd.
The site has been closed to the public during the last two years of COVID, though some remedial work has continued behind the scenes towards repair and development of elements of the popular destination for locals and tourists alike.

In addition to providing for a historical look at the importance of the fishing industry and the cultural impact across the Northwest from the past, the Port Edward historical site has provided for summer employment for students and others in past years towards the tourism aspect of the site.
The site has also played host to a large number of tradespeople who have honed their skills on past remediation projects.
