Prince Rupert Ground Search and Rescue's new Mobile Unit set for unveiling this weekend

The Northland Cruise Terminal will be the centre of attention
Saturday with a display of the SAR capabilities in the community
the focus from 11AM to 1PM

Saturday makes for an Emergency Responders Fair of sorts at the parking lot of the Northland Cruise Terminal, as the members of the Prince Rupert Ground Search and Rescue showcase their new mobile unit at an event hosted by the Prince Rupert Port Authority.

The Saturday event from 11 AM to 1 PM will also include participants from Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue, Prince Rupert RCMP, and Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue-Station 64 Prince Rupert as part of the two hour safety event.

The Prince Rupert Ground Search and Rescue unit was purchased with assistance from the PRPA's Community Investment Fund and will provide for an advanced level of support for the local organization that responds to calls for assistance in the Prince Rupert and surrounding area.

Community Funding efforts in support of the project began in March of 2019  as the group worked  towards acquisition of the asset to local search capabilities on the North Coast.

More on Saturday's event can be found from the Prince Rupert Port Authority Facebook page.
