The salutations for March from Port Edward Mayor Knut Bjorndal have brought residents of the District an update on some of the work of Council with the mayor making note of a few key themes of interest for the community.
The update making note of the engineering work now in motion this year towards Ocenview Road and the resurfacing plans for Sunset Drive. The ongoing work on the roads coming after last year's major work on Wildwood and Evergreen.
Housing is also a focus for the community bulletin, Mayor Bjorndal and Council noting of the housing plans for the old Port Edward School Site and ongoing momentum for the Alder Avenue area, with the latter to see contractors on site in the months ahead towards development of the District's newest subdivision.
The Budget process for 2022 and the welcome news of the removal of the Scotch Cap barge also gained some attention for this months community notes with the Mayor also noting of their ongoing work towards the other abandoned vessel in the Port Edward Harbour.

The District also provided a check list of some of their Council highlights from the month of February.

As Spring approaches, the District is moving into a clean up mode, with a reminder for residents on the work of street sweeping in the community and a call to keep the street clear to allow for the works crew to do their work.
As well, the District has plans to auction off an abandoned motor vehicle this Friday at the Municipal office.
