After two years of virtual events, a team from the Prince Rupert Port Authority has hit the road to share word of the developments from the Northwest gateway and how shippers world wide can take advantage of all that is available through facilities in Prince Rupert.
This week Port officials are showcasing the Northwest as they attend JOCTPM22 a high profile transportation and logistics convention taking place in Long Beach, California
The event which is hosted by the Journal of Commerce, is considered to be the premier conference for the trans-Pacific and global container shipping and logistics community.
It features a large cross section of industry leaders in shipping and logistics and the relationships built and the discussions held through this week can have a large impact on port operators world wide.
That as port officials from along the Pacific coast look to cultivate their contacts to put the best information forward towards what they have to offer the global shipping industry.
Six port representatives from Prince Rupert are in Southern California, led by President and CEO Shaun Stevenson.
As part of their information program for convention attendees is this feature look at the recently announced plans to study the prospects for expansion of Container Facilities to the south with a second terminal, the proposed facility to be located just north of Ridley Island.
We provided a look at that plan last week, which you can review here.
As the event got underway on Monday, Port of Prince Rupert officials were already making contact towards keeping convention participants up on items of note from the North Coast.
They are not the only organization taking part in the event, with DP World and CN Rail also on hand to participate in the convention.
You can keep up with how the convention is moving forward through the Port's twitter feed
More on the event is available from the JOCTPM22 website and twitter feed.
