Price Point for Gas in Prince Rupert covers a 27 cent spread today

Those were the days ... a price point for a period of time
long, long in our past these days

Filling up your gas tank in Prince Rupert today involves a little comparison shopping to find the best price per litre at the pump, as the city's four gas stations cover a wide gulf of price points in a steadily increasing push upwards to fuel up these days.

A tour of the city over the Noon Hour found a high of $1.99.9 to a low of $1.72.9 ( if we dare refer to that as low) with traffic volumes at the pumps reflective of what you might expect as to where Rupertites are heading to gas up today.

The top end price of $1.99.9 /L is found at Hays Cove Petro Can today

Petro Can in the Industrial Park and Chevron both are listing their
prices at $1.81.9/L as of the noon hour

The most popular place to gas up today is the Esso at 7-11 which has
gas posted at 1.72.9/L

The price point across the northwest marks similar trends to that in Prince Rupert, with significant differences to be found in some communities.

Don't expect any relief any time soon, Commodities traders and Oil Observers suggest that the volatility of the gas pricing will continue as long as the global uncertainty on supplies continues forward in the wake of Russian aggression in Ukraine,  among other domestic pressures on the industry.
