City of Prince Rupert sets June 10 deadline for submission of names for 2022 Civic awards program

The Bandstand area of Mariners Park will be the setting
for this years Civic Recognition ceremony on Canada Day

Residents of Prince Rupert have one month to give some thought towards nominations for the annual submission of names for the seven Civic Recognition Awards they could hand out later this summer.

In a social media release from last week, the City set the deadline for this year for June 10th at 4:30 PM, with plans to host this years Awards ceremony once again as part of the Canada Day Celebrations at Mariner's Park.

The City has outlined the criteria for consideration of the awards through the civic website, with the city now accepting recommendations for the following awards:

Freedom of the City, Civic Merit Award, Civic Appreciation Award, Certificate of Appreciation, Appreciation Pin, Achievement Award,  Sergeant William Booth Award for Valour.

The criteria for each can be reviewed below:

To nominate someone, you can find more information and use the city's nomination form found here.

Completed forms can also be returned by email at cityhall@princerupert.ca or hand delivered through the mail slot at City Hall, 424 Third Avenue West, narking your envelope or subject line with Civic Recognition Nomination.

More on the presentation of the awards will come closer to the Canada Day festivities.
