Registration period now open for two popular Seafest events: Seniors Tea Cheer Box and 75/50 club membership for 2022

We're just one month away from the return for Prince Rupert's Summer Festival Seafest and with this year marking a return to public events for the popular festival, the City of Prince Rupert and Prince Rupert Special Events are reminding residents of the registration period for two of the items from what should be a busy schedule starting June 10th.

The First is the Seniors Tea Cheer Box which is organized by the Prince Rupert Special Events Society, and will see a Cheer Box presented to Seniors and Elders living in Prince Rupert and Port Edward.

Among the items in the boxes are baked goods, specialty teas, chocolates, gift certificates and much more.

To register a Senior or Elder for the event contact Prince Rupert Special Events at prspecialevents@citywest.ca or by phone at 250-624-9118.

The Boxes will be available for pick up through a drive through set up at the Lester Centre on June 10th, or if required they can also be delivered by Seafest volunteers.

The Other significant event tied into Seafest is the City of Prince Rupert's 75/50 Club which is currently calling for new inductees for the year 2022.

To qualify for membership, you must be at least 75 years of age and have lived in Prince Rupert for 50 years or more.

For more information and to register for the 75/50 Club contact Brianne Bunko, Executive Assistant at City Hall.

Ms. Bunko can be reached by email at brianne.bunko@princerupert.ca or by phone at 250-627-0939.

The deadline to register for the 2022 awarding of a plaque is noted as June 6th.

We'll have more on what's ahead for Seafest coming up next week, as Prince Rupert prepares for a return for gathering in public celebrations in the downtown core and on the waterfront.

For now, you can keep up with the planning for the event from the Prince Rupert Special Events Society Facebook Page
